SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT

At Wynstream we strongly recognise the need for vigilant awareness of safeguarding issues. All staff have received appropriate training and induction so they understand their roles and responsibilities and are confident about carrying them out.

Staff, pupils, parents and governors feel secure that they can raise any issues or concerns about the safety or welfare of children and know that they will be listened to and taken seriously. This is achieved by maintaining an ethos of safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and protecting staff.

We have a duty to refer and safeguarding issues to external agencies that need to be involved.

The Senior Designated Lead for child protection is Elise Redman and the Deputy Designated Lead for child protection is Stuart Fraser.

It is the responsibility of all adults to ensure the safeguarding of children

If you are a visitor to the school and have concerns for a child’s welfare it is your responsibility to inform a member of staff immediately. You will be asked to fill out a safeguarding concern form which are located at the front reception desk.

In some circumstances you may feel the need to report directly to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). They can be emailed or telephoned.
